Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Numa(“Numa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and property tax analysis service (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. Numa provides informational analysis only and does not provide legal or tax advice.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide. The property address you enter, any corrections or overrides you make to property details (such as square footage, assessed value, or comparable sales), and — if you create an account — your name and email address.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; Stripe provides us only with limited details such as your email, the amount paid, and a confirmation that payment succeeded.
- Property and public-records data. To perform your analysis we retrieve public assessor records and comparable-sales data associated with your address from third-party property-data providers, and we use geocoding services to determine your county.
- Information collected automatically. Standard log and device data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) and essential cookies used to keep you signed in and secure the Service.
How We Use Your Information
- To perform your property tax analysis and generate your verdict, comparable-sales evidence, and appeal packet.
- To provide the 3 years of monitoring included with your analysis and to alert you if your assessment appears to change.
- To process payments, deliver your results, and send transactional email (such as your private results link and packet notifications).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service, including preventing fraud and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers that operate the platform on our behalf, including our payment processor (Stripe), third-party property-data and geocoding providers, our authentication and database provider, our email delivery provider (Resend), and our hosting providers. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function.
- Legal and safety reasons — to comply with applicable law, a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Numa, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Your paid analysis and its private results link remain available so you can return to what you paid for, and monitoring records are retained for the 3-year monitoring period. You may request deletion of your personal information as described below; we may retain limited records where required by law (for example, payment and tax records).
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note that we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by law.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@numa.tax. We will verify your request and respond as required by law.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies — primarily to keep you signed in and to secure the Service. We do not use our cookies to sell your data. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and reputable providers for sensitive operations such as payments and authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for property owners age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
